Kiki Mordi, the BBC investigative journalist who was behind the BBC ‘sex for grades’ documentary, has been awarded the inaugural People Journalism Prize for Africa 2019 (PJPA). People Journalism Prize for Africa broke the news on their official Twitter handle in a post sighted by Pokenozer. Photos of the award were shared together with the tag: Yes. We did it! See this thread for photos from the inaugural People Journalism Prize for Africa endowed by @Gatefieldco See the post below:
Reports indicate that Kiki was selected for her 'Sex for Grades' undercover documentary which focused on sexual harassment in two of West Africa’s most prestigious universities.
It would be recalled that two lecturers at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Butakor, were captured in the Sex for Grades scandal. Not long ago, following final investigations and recommendations by UG Senior Members’ Disciplinary Committee, Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Butakor have been handed six and four months suspension without pay respectively.
