Game Of Thrones wins Outstanding drama series at Emmy's award night

The HBO series  Game Of Thrones Game of Thrones won the award for Outstanding Drama Series for its eighth and final season. The win means GoT now ties the category's all-time record for the most best drama wins .
“These last 10 years have been the best years of our lives, I can’t believe we did it, we shall never see it’s like again”
  David Benioff the show runner said and, noting how famously grueling the production was, noted of the show’s cast and crew: “It’s amazing you are all still alive.”
In addition to the top series prize, a whopping 10 actors from the show were nominated in performance categories as well, including every one of the show’s leads. Peter Dinklage won best supporting actor for the fourth time for the series, but other actors from the show did not take home trophies from their respective categories.

GoT helped keep HBO on top as the most awarded network, along with honors for limited series Chernobyl, drama Succession, comedy Barryand late-night series Last Week Tonight. HBO had a total of 34 wins this year, besting Netflix’s 27.



GoT fought off seven other contenders for the best drama crown: BBC America’s Killing Eve, Netflix’s Ozark, AMC’s Better Call Saul, NBC’s This Is Us, FX’s Pose, Netflix’s Bodyguard, and HBO’s Succession.
