Hey! it’s been a minute.
The last time I posted on this blog was around June 2021. A whole lot has happened since then. Life came at me fast. I had to hit pause, shift gears, and focus on finishing my university degree. That chapter, thankfully, is now closed. But if you know anything about life after school, you know it doesn’t come with a how-to guide.
In the time I’ve been away, I’ve found myself on an unexpected but exciting path. I got into audio engineering, which led me into music production, then into songwriting, and eventually… I became an artist. Not just someone who makes beats in their room (although, yes, I’ve done that too), but someone who’s actively building a voice, a sound, and a message.
But here’s the thing they don’t tell you in creative spaces: chasing your dreams is expensive and not just expensive in money, but in time, energy, and mental health. And in between late-night studio sessions and draft after draft of unfinished lyrics, there’s still life to pay for. That’s where the 9-to-5 comes in. In the posts to come, I'll be diving deeper into the experiences I had during my time away.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about balance — how to hold on to a dream while building stability with my degree. It’s not always easy. Some days I feel like I’m betraying my art by working a job. Other days I feel like I’m betraying my future by not taking the “safe route” more seriously. But I know I’m not alone in this.
That’s partly why I’m back here — on this blog. I need a space to unpack everything. To talk about the grind, the creativity, the small wins, and the big questions. Whether it’s about music, purpose, or the madness of adulting in 2025, I’ll be sharing it here.
So, if you’re reading this — welcome (back) to Pokenozer. Let’s see where this next chapter takes us.
